Instructions: You are to interview two people and record their responses on this form. You should state their name and their comments to your solution to the identified problem.

VI. I interviewed two individuals to see what their response would be to my (our) plan. Their responses are as follows.

Tabon, Moriah- May 27 1991

When I interviewed my sister on what she thought about our bill she said that she was against it. She didn't think that it was fair to the children for having to be punished for something they were not responsible for. She also went on to state that anyone born in the U.S.A. is an automatic citizen, and that was pretty much the definition of a U.S. citizen. She also doubted that anchor babies would cause the American Government any money, and she didn't think that this would affect her. She also questioned how this would cause more illegal immigration.

Tabon, Eric- July 13 1962

When I interviewed my father on what he thought about our bill he said that he was behind us 100%. As a tax-payer my father was willing to do anything possible to stop this. Not only that but living in California his whole life he is all for doing what ever it takes to deter illlegal immigration. He did have sympathy for the anchor babies though because he realized that they could not control their parents' actions, and believed that a program should be set up for them rather than deporting them back to their home land if none of their parents are legal citizens.

VII. My (our) answer, based on our research, to their objections and concerns are

After listening to what the people I interviewed had to say I answered both their questions and concerns with our research. When Moriah doubted that anchor babies could cost the American Government any money I showed her that it would cost money to educate these children, I also showed her that since they were fully legal citizens they could reap all the public benefits. Also that if this is costing the American Government money that means that this is coming out of our wallets, the American tax-payers' wallets, and in the future this will cost us more and more money because the number of anchor babies is increasing every year. Also this would help cause more illegal immigration because it would give illegal immigrants more reason and motivation to sneak into the U.S. knowing that their children will be automatic citizens. Also they can become citizens through their children once they turn 18. When both Eric and Moriah stated that it wasn't fair to the children that they had to be punished for their parents' crimes I stated that it also wasn't fair that the children could reap all of the benefits for their parents' crime. After answering their objections and concerns I told them a metaphor that my partner Alexis Hosticka used in her step 2. Comparing anchor babies to someone stealing money and investing it in a bank.
